Platform:
#1: Public Safety; I will work hard to Increase law Enforcement Staffing and bring
back community policing; Our city’s Police Department runs severely understaffed
per capita compared to Neighboring cities. Robberies are up 24% over LY and Assaults
are up 27%. We have had 9 homicides in the last 20 months. 2 homes are burglarized
every day in our city.
#2: Improve our parks and sporting facilities for Families and Seniors. Parks and
sporting facilities in lesser known parts of the city have been neglected throughout
the years and age is starting to show. If we want to continue to bring in families
to the community we must show we have comparable recreational facilities as our neighboring
cities.
#3: Bring in businesses, restaurants, and entertainment into our beautiful city.
We have a beautiful shoreline and downtown which we could build up with beautiful
restaurants and shopping, but we fail to attract desirable restaurants and shopping.
I will work hard in the city council to make downtown and the shoreline into destinations
for shopping, entertainment, and dining.
